AmateurHour

Hi! I’m Alyssa, founder of AmateurHour Coaching. A native of Fargo, ND, I grew up playing basketball, soccer, as well as running track & cross-country. I enjoyed all aspects of sport, especially the comradery and relationships that came from the teams I played on. As I continued onto college to pursue a degree in Exercise Science, I missed being competitive in sport and decided to join the University of Minnesota Running Club. I quickly became intrigued by the half and full marathon events. After running my first marathon and qualifying for the Boston Marathon I had the racing itch. Miles and miles later, the injuries were catching up with me. Frustrated, I began finding other modes of exercise, such as biking and swimming. I loved the challenge that these brought and signed up for a couple triathlons. A few months later, I signed up with a triathlon coach and haven’t looked back! My coach has helped me learn more about the sport of triathlon as well as provided me with motivation, encouragement, and accountability. My injuries have diminished, and triathlon has become a lifestyle.

As a level I triathlon coach, ACSM exercise physiologist, an Ironman, and a MOM (crazy!) my hope is that I can help you achieve any fitness goal you may have! I understand the struggle to balance family, work, and all life tends to throw at us. It can be so tough! Incorporating triathlon into my life has made me a better mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend. You deserve “me time” too! I’ve found this to be more important than ever after having my son.

Regardless of your athletic or fitness background, I’ll work alongside you to create an individualized program with your goals at the forefront to allow you to reach your full potential and make your dreams become reality!
